Hong Kong Pools

Swimming pools are a Hong Kong summer staple, but you don’t have to be a local to enjoy the benefits of jumping in some cool water. In fact, the city has a surprising number of hk pools that offer not only excellent swimming facilities but also amazing views and snacks to go with your dip.

Ahead of the new swimming season, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is urging swimmers to keep public swimming pools clean and hygienic, particularly during the coronavirus period. Swimmers should make sure their feet are clean after leaving the changing rooms, before entering the pool deck area, and walk through the shower bath and footbath to prevent the spread of germs.

With more than 40 public pools, there’s plenty to choose from in the city. But if you’re looking for a more luxurious experience, you can also find great pools at some of the most exclusive hotels in town, from which you can soak up the sunshine on the sundeck and sip luscious cocktails and drinks.

For example, the rooftop pool at Rosewood Hong Kong is a must-see for anyone with a penchant for the finer things in life. With sweeping views of the city skyline, it’s perfect for a day of lounging with a book and enjoying cocktails in paradise.

Another luxury pool experience comes from the upscale Hotel Asaya, where guests can swim and lounge around in a 25-metre outdoor pool surrounded by lush greenery. The pool is exclusive to hotel guests, but you can purchase an annual wellness membership for a fee of just over HK$120,000 to enjoy other benefits, including access to the spa and fitness centre and free wellness consultations.

In addition to its beautiful outdoor pool, this pool complex in Kwun Tong is also home to a fun-filled indoor and training pool. There’s a fountain with slides and other waterslides for children, as well as an outdoor toddler pool with animals, small slides and water guns. And if you need a break from all that fun, it’s also got an indoor pirate ship.

With a view of Victoria Harbour, this pool is a fantastic spot to relax and take in the scenery. And if you’re lucky, you might even get to see a cruise boat pass by! The only downside is that the pools are closed on Wednesdays for cleaning.
